Smooth transitions
Babinda P-12 State School achieves a smooth transition for our students moving through stages of schooling through:
- A nurturing environment in the early years from Prep through primary school where we focus first and foremost on building strong relationships between teacher, student and parent. Our early years program prioritises making learning fun and engaging, while providing a solid foundation of literacy and numeracy fundamentals as well as higher order thinking skills and technology use.
- A tailored transition program from year six into high school ensures a supportive start Middle School environment. Specialist Middle School teachers deliver an evidence-based, relationship-focused education. We know that students in this phase experience an unmatched period of cognitive, physical, social and emotional change and this is supported through strong staff relationships, goal setting and by engaging students in authentic and meaningful learning.
- A flexible and innovative Senior Secondary program which offers a wide variety of high-quality pathways to post-schooling success for students. We provide students with the opportunity to study a rigorous academic program and/or vocational and trade options via face to face learning, virtual learning and through TAFE. Our innovative eLearning precinct and Digital Academy supports students to engage with the 21st Century learning platforms favoured by Universities and TAFE. Students often gain early entry to University through our partnerships, as well as being supported in completing school-based apprenticeships and traineeships.
Babinda State School Senior Secondary students are leaders in our community and we pride in molding fine young adults ready to take their place in the world.
